如果我們能理解事物,通常會有較好的記憶,理解的過程使我們的大腦有系統地儲存和提取資訊;如果我們使用多些感官功能,如視像、聲效、感覺或經驗去理解事物時,大腦會更有效地儲存資訊並能在日後更容易地提取相關資料。試想一想我們把一本書放進一個五桶櫃內,卻忘記了放在哪一個抽屜時,便需拉開每一個抽屜看一看,可是,如果抽屜外貼上物件標籤,我們只需瀏覽標籤內容,便能找到書本所在的地方了;標籤是好幫手,省卻了回想所需的時間,採用視像、聲效、感覺或經驗去學習時,會收到好像使用標籤找物件的功效,它們會提醒我們曾學習的內容和準備我們學習新事物。

[玩出英語] 英文班提供了很多視像去幫助學習英文,以下是其中一些例子。

If we understand something, we usually remember it better. Understanding enables our brains to store and recall information in a systematical way. If we use more senses to understand , such as images, sounds, feelings or experiences, the information is more effectively put in brain and it is easier to be recalled later. Imagine we put a book into a cabinet with five drawers and forget where it is. Opening each drawer to find the book is essential. However, if labels are put on the drawers to show the existing items, we may search the book by scanning the labels to confirm where it is. Labels are helpful and save much time in memory recalling. Learning through images, sounds, feelings or experiences has the similar function of labels. They remind what we have learnt before and prepare us to learn something new.
